Rise of the Continents

This Sunday sees a brand new amazing documentary all about our wonderful planet and its continents! The 4 part series explores the formation and movements of the Earths continents, with the first looking at the continent of Africa!

The series is hosted by Professor Ian Stewart @Profianstewart , a geologist and professor at the University of Portsmouth. He has done many TV shows showing off the Earths power and geology and is a big inspiration for me, a young geologist! In 2007 he presented, Earth: The Power of the Planet looking at the forces that have shaped the planet, Volcanoes, Ice, Ocean, Atmosphere and Rare Earth.) Volcano Live, last year saw Ian present live shows from the crater of Kileau in Hawaii.

He makes them really engaging and entertaining and they are really interesting. I would highly recommend watching his latest series this weekend! Its going to show how the continents form and collide as they move around the Earth.
