Skins: Fire (Part One)

 

 

So last night was the first episode of the new series of Skins! The Ground-breaking e4 drama loved around the world. Its been over a year since the last series and many weren't sure if the programme was coming back at all. However, there was rumours of a new series or even a film! Then finally at the start of the year. The drama was confirmed to focus on three of the main characters from the first and second generations.

 

Last night was the first of six episodes in this season, presumably two per character. When the episode finished yesterday, I was so glad to see that there was another episode. I was worried that it would just end there, not knowing that there was a second episode. Anyways it was a great episode! It was very interesting to head to twittersphere to see peoples views and there was a general split. Many people were upset stating they missed the drugs, sex and violence, which made the main part of the show in previous seasons. However, many people liked this new take on the show, saying it is much more grown up and much more like the original much loved first generation. 

 

This first episode was focussed on Effy and showing her working at Canary Wharf. She looks stunning and her eyes are mesmerising! We saw, and have been promised, other previous much loved characters and we have Cook and Cassie episodes to come! The soundtrack was as powerful as usual with some awesome tracks on there, including Ellie Goulding.

 

What also shocked me on twitter was how many people around the world watch the show. Trending worldwide there were tweets, from Italy, Russia, Spain, Portugal....
