Huge fragment of Russian "Meteorite" found in Lake

Divers in Russia have been working away to recover possible fragments from the meteorite that exploded over Chelyabinsk earlier this year. The meteorite was captured on film by over a hundred on board cameras in vehicles in the most video-recorded impact to date.

Today the divers brought back what they believe to be a 570kg chunk of the space rock which is thought to have plunged in to Lake Chebarkul in central Russia leaving a 6m-wide hole in the ice almost 8 months ago.

If it is confirmed it is extra terrestrial, it would be the largest fragment of the meteorite discovered so far.

Take a look back at the footage of the meteorite exploding across the sky. in which over a thousand people were injured.
