Huge Oar Fish "Sea Serpent" found at Californian Coast

A huge Oar Fish has been found along the Californian Coast by a lucky marine biologist who brought the five metre long silvery carcass of the dead fish ashore. The fish, which had died of natural causes is believed to be the origin of sea serpent legends.

Jasmine Santana was snorkelling when she spotted the creature of which she dragged  by the tail for more than 20m. Many others waded in to the sea and helped her bring it to shore.
The Oarfish are rare with some growing up to 15m found in deep water.

The fish was being studied by local biologists but wish to reconstruct the skeleton after a burial so it can be displayed.
