Tonight is the last ever Shameless!!!

 

 

After 139 episodes the show will wrap up tonight on Channel 4 at 10pm for the final ever time. This show has been one of the most revolutionary and iconic British dramas, set on a typical council estate in Manchester, was one of the first shows that pushed the bar with its story lines and controversial issues.The show looked closely at crime and poverty along with other issues such as prostitution, homosexuality and racism. The show contained graphic violence, nudity, scenes of drug taking, sexual references, criminal activity and scenes of a sexual nature. Created and written by Paul Abbott, it was the show leading the way to a new edgier and daring TV programmes. 

 

The way the show was created and the types of characters didn't provide a dark and serious drama but a lighter feel with added comedy. The show was shocking, disturbing yet hilarious and occasionally touching. The characters are well loved by fans and have seen them grow with some characters being on the show since they were children.

 

Many of the original characters have since left the show but there is confirmation that some characters will return for this final episode.

 

I can imagine the final episode will be great and it will be good to see how the Gallagher clan have gotten on in their lives. Though it will be interesting to see how the show ends and whether it will satisfy the fans or not.
