Black Mirror: White Bear

Okay so tonight is the second episode of the amazing series  BLACK MIRROR - which has a different cast and story in each episode. Many of the episodes depict a dystopian future and have a dark and cold feel. They look at the delights and discomforts to technology, "as if technology was a drug" Charlie Brooker, the creator.

This is actually the second series of Black Mirror, the first had themes which included, being in a future in which the only way you can progress in life is winning talent shows and an episode showing an alternate reality where people had a grain behind their ear which recorded all their life so they could go back and watch.

The first episode of this series looked at ways you could contact someone who has passed away via an online service. The service looks at the way the deceased person spoke on social medias and allows an instant messaging service. It continues further being able to talk to the artificial deceased from uploading sound and video footage. Finally, a synthetic body can be used to mimic this person. I thought this episode was amazingly clever and yet a little disturbing. It seems that it could be so easy to do today with all the technology and uses of social media.

Tonight's episode named "White Bear" looks at the obsession of people filming things on mobile devices and incorporates it into a zombie-like infection. It follows an uninfected survivor who wakes up not knowing what is going on.
See the trailer below:

I think that this is such an amazing show, the way that it is filmed and the topics that Charlie Brooker has chosen to use in this twisting dystopian futures.

Its on tonight 10pm Channel 4, MUST SEE!!
