It's time for Africa

Okay so thiiiis little blog is talking about the huge and amazing continent of Africa!!!! Well its not about the continent itself but on numerous other things.... firstly here is some music for you to play whilst reading the rest of the blog!

Right so firstly tonight is the last episode of Africa, narrated by Sir David Attenborough! It has been one amazing show, following Planet Earth and Frozen Planet. It has shown some amazing sights from fighting giraffes, a stampede down the side of a cliff, animals going to the beach on holiday and much more!!! Tonight it looks at the effects humans are having on the animals of Africa. Looking at how poaching has caused dwindling numbers and what is being done now to stop poaching and protect the animals! Its a must watch, tonight at 9pm on BBC1!

Also, my little brother is actually off to Africa next week!!! He is travelling to Kampala in Uganda along with 8 other students from his sixth form and numerous teachers. They will be helping educate some of the most deprived people in the world. Working alongside recognised charities they are using sport as a vehicle for engagement. The team have already done a lot of fundraising, including bag packing, collections and events. My brother has also been selling some of his graphic design, donating the money to the cause. AfriDACA set up by the Darwen Aldridge Community Academy is its title and more information can be found http://www.daca.uk.com/afridaca
You can also see Liams artwork for sale where some of the money goes to AfriDACA or you can also donate here to:

So that's all Africanny for now.
Here are some last minute facts:

  • Lake Malawi is the cheapest place in the world to get your open-water diving certification; enjoy more than 500 varieties of tropical fish while you're learning.
  • The original Star Wars movie sets in the deserts of Tunisia (a.k.a. planet Tatooine) are very well preserved and you can even stay in Luke Skywalker's home.
  • Sudan has more Pyramids than Egypt. The 223 pyramids are smaller and steeper than their Egyptian counter parts, but the Nubians were obviously very busy people around 4 BC - 3 AD.
  •
    And here is an
amazing song to finish the blog!
    Toto - Africa:
